A Memory

This is a picture of my mother, Carolyn Nielson Brugger, sitting on a rock wall in a park in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in about 1962. I loved this dress because it was made out of cotton Jersey and it came in a cotton Jersey bag that matched the dress. The selling feature of the dress was you could smash the dress into the bag and it would never wrinkle. Remember, this was in days before permanent press. This picture was taken at our summer picnic we had for our ward to say goodbye to the families that were getting ready to leave. This was a hard picnic because this was the summer we said goodbye several families that had helped us get settled in Germany and in the ward. I was getting old enough to make friends and start realizing I would probably never see them again once they left an area.
