Monday's Heroes

Todays heroes are probably two of the most unsung heroes in the Newport ward. John and Shirley Beausoleil (pronounced bo-so-lay) are two of the most giving people we have in the ward. If something needs to be done, they do it and usually without being asked. Shirley is my visiting teacher and the compassionate service leader for the ward. She sometimes goes unnoticed by some of the new people in the ward because she is so quiet. But if they are ever in need of anything she if the first person on their doorstep and THEN they become very aware of the wonderful truly Christlike woman. John is just kind and giving. We were having a problem with two handicapped members being picked up on Sunday mornings. John became aware of the problem and there has not been a Sunday when they have not had the opportunity to attend Church for lack of a ride since. Since it has become the members responsibility to clean the building, if John doesn't think the member team that is charge will follow through, he comes and cleans the building with Shirley and the first counselor in the bishopric, Lynn Keeler. This is a couple that does not have a lot of monetary resources but they will give you anything they do have if they feel you need it more than they do. My life has been so blessed but having Shirley and John's lives influence in mine. Shirley's health is not the best but she never misses a Church meeting and is always at the Relief Society activities. In other words if she is missing, she is either out of town or in the hospitial! The Lord has blessed the Newport ward by giving us a couple as wonderful as John and Shirley Beausoleil.

I hear that. Since I've moved out of the ward, she has been on the phone as much as she can to let me know of the happenings of the ward. She is a very special lady and she has a great husband as well. I always enjoyed visiting with them when I was in town for a bit.
I actually miss it..
