Anneke's Baptism
The whole reason we went to Utah was because our granddaughter Anneke Susan Bahlmann was being baptized and it seemed like a good time to have a mini family reunion. This is somehow the only picture we managed to get on our camera of the day. This is Mallory - the Bahlmann's youngest daughter. To the left is Luke Bahlmman and Dane Davis is watching her one her on the right. Hopefully there will be other pictures from the baptism soon when our other daughters have time to post. Both of the Bahlmann girls looked like little princesses. Actually all of my granddaughters' looked like princesses. I am very lucky to have such beautiful grandchildren. The above picture reminds me of Heidi and Pam when they were that age.

Dane's Sourpuss
Our first morning in Utah, the Davis, Nordell's, Clyde and I went to the Black Bear Cafe for breakfast. It was wonderful by the way and since I have become wheat intolerant - it was the first time I wished I could eat it again. The pancakes looked yummy and their cinnamon rolls were about 6 inches across! Dane got a lemon. My camera is old and slow but these are some pictures of him eating it. The thing is that he kept eating it even though he wasn't sure he liked it.
This is just after he had his first taste and is his first pucker.
Here he goes again.
The pucker starts but my camera is just in between shots.
His second pucker. Fortunately Heather has the whole sequence on her camera (I hope). I have to say that this trip was one of the most fun trips I have ever had. It was just the perfect combination of everything. I guess it didn't hurt that we ended up driving a Lincoln the whole time - so we were driving in a car that had seats that cooled (and warmed) and plenty of room for the family. Plus our family just plain has a good time together. We are blessed.

Eating at Thanksgiving Point
Carianne, Nathanael behind Dutch and Noah all enjoying ice cream.
Dutch had cut his head as this point plus I think he had an ice cream head ache. Poor kid.
My beautiful granddaughters - Evie on the left , Bell in the front and Carlye on the right.
This picture was not taken at Thanksgiving Point but at breakfast that morning. Dane is eating a lemon. I will do the whole sequence tomorrow - it is funny.

Thanksgiving Point
The day after we got to Utah, we met the Pfiester's at Thanksgiving Point with the Davis and Nordell clans. I love the above picture of Nathanael and Dutch because it shows how sweet Nathanael was with Dutch the whole time they were together. Nathanael kind of became Dutch's self appointed guardian and did the job very well. A little late on that day - when Dutch fell and cut his head upon on the stone floor, Nathanael blamed himself for not watching better. It was no one's fault. It was just something that happened. Thanks to his Uncle Carl, the cut in Dutch's eyebrow is healing beautifully.
In the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point, as you turn a corner you are faced with this 'Mega - Dino Shark'! There is a scientific name for it - but it is huge and a bit alarming. I was one of the first to come upon it from our group that day, so I stationed myself and watched my grandchildren come around the corner. It was funny watching their reactions. After they got used to it - they loved it and loved posing in front of it - pretending to feed each other to it. This is Bella, Evie, and Carlye, feeding Dane into the choppers. You can't see Dane's face but he his laughing.
This is my daughter Pam feeding her niece Evie into the sharks mouth. You can tell how distressed Evie is. She is loving every minute of it! Dutch is standing just in front of them and my grandson Noah is in the right hand corner. I don't know how many rows of teeth a Great White Shark has but this one had 4 in some places.

Our Trip to Utah...
On July 24, we flew to Utah. Above is a picture of Heather on the left and Carianne on the right taken at the farm at Thanksgiving Point. We had not seen Heather and her girls in over 4 years - so that was a happy reunion. I am very frustrated with my pictures at this moment. 90% of them were taken sideways and I have no way of turning them or cropping with my computer. Hence I will not be showing them for a while. I also have no pictures of Heidi's family except for 2 of Mallory. Clyde had the camera in his pocket and apparently that is where it stayed.
I am learning to knit. I knit hats winter for all of my grandchildren and one for Pam. Above, Evie, Dane, Bella, Pam and Dutch are modeling theirs. Dane loves his because he can take it off and put it on at will. Unfortunately it covers his eyes quite often in the putting on process and his has not figured out how to uncover them - so he wanders around blind. When I gave my grandson Luke his hat - he would not take it off. He was sweating buckets underneath it but refused to remove it. I have to say that this one by far one of the best vacations we have ever had. If Clyde had not gotten a horrible cold (that he STILL has) it would have been so much better.
