Anneke wearing the shawl I made her for her birthday. The pile of clothes that Heidi is sorting through in the top right corner are compliments of Aunt Cari.
While we were in Kerrville, Nathanael got his dog that he had been saving for. Radar Hunter, II arrived with much fanfare and a few problems on the way.
Radar has a sweet personality and is a pure-bred Brittany.
Radar is bred to be a bird dog. They don't point, they actually retrieve the birds. Radar is already instinctively tracking. He is full of energy and fun. Other than annoying Emmaline (Carlye's Yorkie) all is well and Radar is going to be a fun dynamic in the their home.
Pat Pfiester has a pool in her backyard. We went with Carianne and her family and Jodi Carpenter and her family, one afternoon. Here are some highlights.
Jodi visiting with us while being a good mom and lifeguarding.
Carianne supervising the swimmers. Carianne is a good mother to her own children and all of her nieces and nephews too.
A view of the pool. Carlye and Sam were at summer camp when we did this. We had another pool party with my nieces, Annemarie and Julianna and Julianna's son, Thomas. Of course I neglected to bring a camera that day. We had such a great visit.
It was a fun day. Here is Nathanael so everyone can see how grown-up he is getting. More pictures of other days tomorrow.
I took this just a few days before we left. It was a beautiful summer day on the bay.
The last day we were in the apartment, the Bremer Family sent us this wonderful gift. It was so appreciated. It was wonderful to nibble on when I needed a pick me up. It was something I would have never thought of but so tasty. Thank you Bremer's. We love you and miss you.
We head for Las Vegas tomorrow. Kerrville and San Antonio have been wonderful. We have had an amazing time. It will be hard to leave but on the other hand it is time to move on. Thank you, all of the Pfiester Clan for such a wonderful time. We love you all.
We just got home from visiting my Aunt Norma Allen. Cyndi and Jennifer came over too! It was an amazing afternoon, catching up and feeling love.
We also just got some interesting news. We have had our MTC entry date moved to 28 October 2013. They are having problems with our visas. There will be a reason for this when all is said and done, I am sure. Maybe we will be better prepared this way.
This is not a very clear picture but this was Clyde's last day at work. There is a little bell that hangs on the wall that Clyde would ring everyday when he came into work with his comb. On the last day his co-workers had him ring the big bell that is usually rung when the bigwigs come in. He rang it and said, "Civilian leaving the deck." We hugged everyone and left. It was a good 10 years.
After getting packed out, having the apt. inspected so we can get our deposit back, Clyde's farewell party and getting Set-apart, we drove for 32 hours and arrived safely at the Pfiester home. For the first time in weeks, I am relaxed and feeling good. Clyde and I have slept for 2 days and I think we are finally catching up.
The van left the house last Tuesday and should arrive at Popi's on Wednesday. Now to find an unpacking arrangement that makes everyone happy.
Clyde's farewell party was wonderful. Clyde received medals for his meritorious service with the Civil Service. It is the highest award you get in the Civil Service. It was fun party.
Last Wednesday evening, Clyde and I were set apart. It was beautiful with amazing blessings through us for our children and grandchildren. I was given the Gift of Tongues, which was something I was hoping to be blessed with. There were other very special blessing pronounced on Clyde and me.
Clyde had to work Thursday but his boss, Bev, said for him to come in late and he could leave as soon as the loose ends were tied up. That done we headed out.
Once we got into Pennsylvania, the drive was beautiful and easy. We took back roads into Kerrville and it was wonderful. We drove past Enchanted Rock and that brought back some fun family memories. We are here until this weekend and then off to Las Vegas. I will post more as we go.
I started this blog to keep in touch with my family. By family I mean those that I have a blood relationship with and those that I have 'adopted' through the years.
